Introduction

Bima Journal (Business, Management and Accounting Journal) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by Perkumpulan Dosen Muda (PDM) Bengkulu, Indonesia.

The journal is committed to promoting unrestricted access to scholarly knowledge, supporting the dissemination of original research findings, and facilitating the responsible sharing and reuse of academic publications in business, management, accounting, finance, economics, entrepreneurship, and related disciplines.

To ensure transparency concerning copyright ownership, publishing rights, intellectual property protection, and the lawful reuse of published materials, Bima Journal applies the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) licence to its published articles, subject to clearly identified third-party rights or specific exceptions.

This Licensing Policy establishes the rights and responsibilities of authors, readers, researchers, educators, practitioners, institutions, and other parties who access, reproduce, distribute, translate, adapt, or reuse scholarly materials published in the journal.

The policy reflects the journal's commitment to responsible open-access publishing, copyright transparency, equitable scholarly communication, and internationally recognised principles of publication ethics.

1. Type of Licence

All articles published under the current licensing policy of Bima Journal are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) licence, unless an individual article explicitly states otherwise.

This licence permits the lawful sharing, reproduction, redistribution, translation, adaptation, and reuse of published scholarly materials, including for commercial purposes, provided that users comply with the applicable licensing conditions.

The licence promotes the accessibility, visibility, dissemination, and responsible reuse of research while ensuring appropriate acknowledgement of original authors and their scholarly contributions.

2. Copyright Ownership and Publishing Rights

Authors publishing in Bima Journal retain copyright ownership of their original scholarly contributions.

By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that the submitted work has not previously been published as a journal article, except where relevant material has appeared in a thesis, dissertation, institutional report, conference abstract, preprint, or another form of prior dissemination permitted by the journal's editorial policies.

Authors must disclose relevant prior dissemination and confirm that the manuscript is not simultaneously under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Submission also confirms that all listed co-authors have approved the manuscript and consented to its submission and potential publication.

Upon acceptance, authors grant Bima Journal the non-exclusive right of first publication and authorise the journal to publish, reproduce, distribute, and make the accepted article publicly available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence.

Authors retain their copyright and may exercise their rights to reuse, distribute, deposit, and further develop their work, subject to applicable third-party rights, confidentiality obligations, and legal requirements.

Bima Journal does not require authors to transfer copyright ownership to Perkumpulan Dosen Muda (PDM) Bengkulu.

Authors whose research involves potentially patentable business processes, financial technologies, digital applications, analytical systems, management innovations, or other inventions are encouraged to obtain appropriate intellectual property advice and consider patent protection before public disclosure.

3. Rights Granted under the CC BY-SA 4.0 Licence

Under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence, readers and other users may exercise the following rights.

3.1 Access and Download

Users may access, read, and download published articles freely without subscription barriers or payment for access to the articles.

3.2 Share and Redistribute

Users may copy, reproduce, share, and redistribute published articles in any medium or format, including institutional repositories, educational platforms, scholarly databases, academic websites, printed publications, and other lawful dissemination channels.

3.3 Reuse and Reproduce

Users may reproduce and reuse all or part of the licensed materials for research, teaching, academic communication, professional development, policy analysis, business education, and other lawful purposes.

3.4 Translate and Adapt

Users may translate, remix, transform, adapt, and build upon published materials, provided that appropriate attribution is given, modifications are identified, and shared adaptations are distributed under the same or an officially compatible licence where required.

3.5 Commercial Use

The licence permits commercial reuse of published materials, including their incorporation into commercial educational resources, professional publications, training materials, and other products or services, subject to compliance with the applicable licence conditions.

3.6 Irrevocability

The permissions granted under CC BY-SA 4.0 are irrevocable for as long as users comply with the applicable licence conditions.

These permissions do not eliminate obligations concerning intellectual property rights, confidentiality, privacy, ethical restrictions, or other legal requirements that may apply to particular materials.

4. Attribution Requirements

Any individual or organisation reusing materials published in Bima Journal must provide appropriate attribution to the original authors and acknowledge the journal as the original publication source.

Where reasonably practicable and where the information has been supplied, attribution should include:

  1. The name of the original author or authors.

  2. The title of the published article.

  3. The journal title, Bima Journal (Business, Management and Accounting Journal).

  4. The year of publication, volume, issue, and page range or article number, where applicable.

  5. The article's Digital Object Identifier (DOI) or official publication URL, where available.

  6. A reference or hyperlink to the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence.

  7. An indication of whether the original material has been translated, modified, adapted, abridged, or otherwise changed.

Attribution must be presented reasonably and transparently.

It must not imply that the original authors, Bima Journal, or Perkumpulan Dosen Muda (PDM) Bengkulu endorse the user, the adaptation, or any subsequent application of the licensed material.

Users must retain applicable copyright and licensing notices in accordance with the licence requirements.

5. ShareAlike Requirements

The ShareAlike provision is a fundamental condition of the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence.

Where users remix, transform, translate, or otherwise adapt licensed content and subsequently share the adapted material, their contributions must be distributed under CC BY-SA 4.0 or another licence officially recognised as compatible with it.

This requirement supports continued access to, sharing of, and further adaptation of derivative scholarly materials under equivalent open licensing conditions.

Users must not impose additional legal restrictions or technological protection measures that prevent recipients from exercising rights granted under the applicable licence.

The ShareAlike condition applies to shared adaptations of licensed materials. It does not automatically require separate, unmodified works merely compiled or distributed alongside licensed content to adopt the same licence.

6. Use of Third-Party Materials

Published articles may contain third-party content, including photographs, maps, tables, diagrams, figures, survey instruments, financial statements, corporate reports, statistical datasets, research instruments, and other copyrighted materials.

Such materials are not automatically covered by the journal's CC BY-SA 4.0 licence where their copyright status, attribution statement, or specific licensing notice indicates otherwise.

Authors are responsible for identifying third-party materials and obtaining all permissions necessary for lawful reproduction and publication.

They must provide accurate attribution and disclose any restrictions associated with the use or redistribution of such materials.

Readers and other users are responsible for examining the copyright and licensing status of third-party materials before reusing them.

Where third-party content is excluded from the article's Creative Commons licence, permission from the relevant rights holder may be required unless the intended use is otherwise permitted by applicable law.

7. Author Rights and Self-Archiving

Bima Journal supports the dissemination, accessibility, and long-term preservation of scholarly publications through lawful sharing and deposition in institutional or subject-based repositories.

Authors retain the right to share and deposit the published version of their articles in institutional repositories, personal academic websites, research databases, and other scholarly communication platforms, subject to the applicable licence and third-party rights.

When sharing a published article, authors are encouraged to:

  1. Provide the complete bibliographic citation.

  2. Acknowledge Bima Journal as the original publication venue.

  3. Include the article DOI or official publication URL.

  4. Retain the applicable copyright and CC BY-SA 4.0 licence notices.

  5. Identify any modifications made to the original published version.

Authors may also reuse their published research in teaching, academic presentations, subsequent scholarly work, professional activities, and other lawful applications without transferring copyright ownership to the publisher.

The journal encourages responsible self-archiving practices that maintain the accuracy, traceability, and integrity of scholarly publications.

8. No Additional Restrictions

Users may not impose legal terms, contractual conditions, or effective technological measures that legally prevent others from exercising the rights granted under the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence.

Bima Journal supports responsible scholarly dissemination and opposes restrictions that contradict its published open-access licensing terms.

Nevertheless, the licence does not remove applicable obligations concerning personal data protection, research ethics, confidential business information, privacy, moral rights, or third-party intellectual property.

All reuse must comply with applicable laws and ethical requirements.

9. Disclaimer and Limitations

The Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence does not provide warranties concerning the accuracy, completeness, reliability, suitability for a particular purpose, or legal status of licensed materials.

The licence does not necessarily grant every permission required for a particular intended use.

Other legal rights, including privacy rights, publicity rights, moral rights, patent rights, and third-party intellectual property rights, may limit certain applications of published materials.

Users remain responsible for determining whether additional permissions or authorisations are required.

Materials in the public domain and uses permitted under applicable copyright exceptions or limitations are not subject to licence obligations to the extent that such exceptions or limitations apply.

The journal's open-access licensing arrangements do not imply endorsement of any subsequent interpretation, commercial application, investment decision, financial recommendation, management practice, or policy conclusion derived from published research.

10. Licence Information in Published Articles and OJS Metadata

Bima Journal is committed to maintaining accurate and consistent copyright and licensing information throughout its publication platform and scholarly metadata.

The journal's licensing information should be clearly displayed in:

  1. The Licensing Policy or Copyright Notice page.

  2. The Author Guidelines and manuscript submission information.

  3. Individual article landing pages.

  4. Published PDF and other article formats, where practicable.

  5. Relevant Open Journal Systems (OJS) publication metadata.

  6. DOI registration metadata and other scholarly indexing records, where supported.

The journal seeks to ensure that the declared licence type, copyright ownership, article-level licensing statements, and associated hyperlinks remain accurate and consistent across its publishing infrastructure.

Any modifications to the journal's licensing policy must be communicated transparently through the official journal website.

Changes must not be applied retrospectively in a manner that contradicts rights already granted under an existing Creative Commons licence.
