Abstract

The gel sleeping mask is a night face mask that helps keep your skin moisturised and protected. It combines binahong leaf extract and honey because they both contain natural active compounds. Binahong is rich in flavonoids while honey has vitamin C, both acting as antioxidants that help prevent early ageing. This study aims to find out whether a combination of binahong extract and honey can be formulated into a sleeping mask gel with a 1% extract concentration. The physical evaluations carried out include organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, adhesion, spreadability, and hedonic tests. The antioxidant activity was tested using the DPPH method with UV-Vis spectrophotometry to determine the IC50 value. The research results showed that all formulations met the physical properties required for the preparation, and the antioxidant test results indicated that the formulations exhibited moderate antioxidant activity
